Production of wooden doors

Selection of wood depends not only on personal preferences, but also on where you are going to install this door.

For entrance wooden doors dense wood suits better. The best wood is oak, as it is durable, has pleasant soft-brown colour, it does not require polishing or painting, and it is resistant to any weather conditions. The width of bars and boards is selected at one’s taste, but if it is the door to the bedroom, one should better use narrower bars than bars in the door of kitchen or living room. If you decided to use plastic when making wooden doors with inserts, you’d better choose it to match the colour of the wood or leave it white. Size of insert can be different. You can put a pattern on plastic insert, it will look more interesting and vivid.

In production of wooden doors glass inserts are usually made of transparent glass. It shall be thicker than usual. One can use different methods for decoration of glass: tinting, frosting, stained glass etc. As for colour scheme of glass, there is no limits for imagination. The main thing is that these door inserts harmonically match general style of doors and the whole interior.

First of all, wooden doors provide a possibility to diversify your interior, to make it special and individual. Wooden door can be solid, barred, with different original inserts. Besides, wooden door is rather durable, it does not rust as metal door, and is not so heavy as metal one.

Doors made of wooden blocks can be made by two technologies:

• traditional technology – made of solid piece of wood;
• modern technology – made of glued wood.

Another technology for production of doors with solid wood is simpler and cheaper. Assembling of glued wood changes appearance of door: some parts of the door can have different tints. But it is not a defect, vice versa, it emphasizes natural origin of material.

Useful life of doors made of solid wood directly depends on how carefully manufacturers of doors have observed all stages of technological process during its manufacturing.

Quality of doors made of solid wood is pre-determined by preparation of raw material. To prolong useful life of wooden doors humidity in the premises shall be within 40-60%. Use only special fluids for maintenance of doors made of solid wood, and forget about usual cleaning fluids and powders.
